Role Overview

Audio Specialists are the sound architects of Foehammer Studios' games. They create immersive soundscapes, compose music, design sound effects, process voice acting, and implement dynamic audio systems. Audio Specialists bridge the gap between creative vision and player experience, crafting audio that enhances gameplay, builds atmosphere, and provides critical feedback.

This role encompasses everything from composing battle music and designing weapon sounds to creating environmental ambience, processing character voices, implementing spatial audio systems, and mixing/mastering final audio. Specialists use technical expertise, creative talent, and implementation knowledge to deliver professional-quality game audio.


Core Responsibilities

Compose Music: Background tracks, combat music, ambient music, menu themes

Design Sound Effects: Weapons, impacts, movements, UI sounds, environmental effects

Create Ambience: Environmental loops, atmospheric layers, spatial soundscapes

Process Voice Audio: Character voices, radio effects, spatial processing, normalization

Implement Audio Systems: Dynamic music systems, spatial audio, adaptive soundscapes

Mix & Master: Balance levels, EQ, compression, final output optimization

Technical Integration: MetaSounds implementation, audio middleware, engine integration

Create Audio Documentation: Implementation guides, asset lists, technical specifications

Optimize Performance: Memory usage, streaming, CPU impact, file compression

Maintain Audio Standards: Consistent quality, proper naming, organized file structure
